major airlines serve it, but Southwest Airlines has the most flights in and
out of Kansas City. If you rent a car,
it is about a 20 mile drive from the airport to the hotel. If you would like someone to pick you up
from the airport, call Gregg Ottinger in advance (Tel: 913-268-0100) or
e-mail him (gdo@duncanallen.com) and we will arrange to have someone meet you
and bring you to the conference and back to the airport after it
concludes. You can find driving directions
on line at MapQuest.com, or get directions and maps from the rental car
agencies at the airport. What to Wear: Kansas City should offer comfortable,
shirt sleeve weather in early June, although it can also be very hot. Dress for all of the conference activities
is as casual as possible. The hotel
has an indoor swimming pool. Kids:
Your kids are welcome! Gregg
Ottinger has a 10-year-old and an 8-year-old who would love to play with your
children. Gregg’s wife, Kenda, has
offered to baby sit during the daytime. We are looking forward to seeing you in Kansas
City! If possible, please fill out and return, by e-mail
or regular mail, the survey found on the next page, and include a photograph,
if you have one. See You In Kansas City!!! Footnotes: 1. See http://www.kansasspeedway.com/ for information and activities. Although there is no NASCAR race that
weekend (thank goodness!), the Richard Petty Driving Experience offers the
opportunity to ride with a professional driver on the track that weekend, or
to drive a NASCAR car yourself on the track.
See http://www.1800bepetty.com/experience/ScheduleDetails_KC.aspx for details. 2. Kansas City is a steak and barbeque town. Our dinners on Friday and Saturday will
probably consist of salads, baked beans or corn-on-the cob, and a selection
of beef, chicken, turkey, and pork barbeque from local barbeque and steak
joints. If anyone has dietary
restrictions or would prefer a less gut-busting menu, let Gregg Ottinger know
